We've all heard the term "scrub" thrown around both in Yugioh and non-Yugioh contexts, but what exactly does it mean? The definition varies wildly based on the individual using it and the individual(s) they are describing. In this article I will analyze the concept of "scrub mentality" as established by David Sirlin and its relation to Yu-Gi-Oh! I hope to explain how to recognize and correct personal examples of scrub mentality, and thus to improve oneself as a duelist.
