Upon learning of cards that can strengthen the "Ancient Gear" archetype to amazing lengths, I decided to showcase my version of the fabled "Dark Ages" Deck, as referred to by Professor Cronos di Medici (or Veillian Crowler to fans in America).
As you can see, its main focus is "Ancient Gear Golem" and includes cards that can thin out your Deck considerably. "Ancient Gear Catapult" ignores Summoning conditions, and when used to destroy "Ancient Gear Fortress" or "Geartown", you will generate the two Tributes required to summon "Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon" or "Ancient Gear Hydra". Summoning "Ancient Gear Gadget" with any of these cards will insure that "Reactor Dragon" and "Hydra" will gain access to all their effects, while "Wyvern" can add key cards from your Deck to your hand, like "Ancient Gear Fusion".
The other focal aspect of this Deck is Fusions, which explains the inclusion of "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound" and "Ancient Gear Fusion". "Hunting Hound's" effect Fusion Summons "Ancient Gear" monsters without the use of "Polymerization" (or cards similar to it that perform Fusion Summons) while "Ancient Gear Fusion" can use monsters from your Deck to Fusion Summon, should you have "Ancient Gear Golem" or "Ancient Gear Golem - Ultimate Pound" on the field. Using this strategy to summon "Ancient Gear Megaton Golem" can cause problems for an opponent, since this will allow you three attacks per Battle Phase, and even if your opponent decides to destroy it, it only opens the path for "Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem".
Now that the basics have been given (mainly for those who are just starting out), try it out for size and see how it fares.
