Orcust is one of my most favorite Deck of all time, seeing Harp at 1 in Master Duel really made me excited and immediately build Orcust Striker as my 1st Deck in Master Duel. However, after discovering the power of Normal Summon Scrap Recycler, I immediately scrap those Striker cards and put some scrap cards instead. After some testing, I found that the best end board I could make with just Normal Summon Scrap Recycler 0 extenders is: 3 materials Apollousa, Bardiche, 2 Fog Blades, I:P Masquerena, and Babel with Dingirsu on GY. In total those are 8 disruptions
Combo
- Normal Summon Recycler -> Send Rosenix/O-lion for a token
- Link into Scrap Wyvern -> Set 1 card
- Scrap Wyvern Summon back Recycler and pop it -> Triggers to summon Golem from Deck, then pop the Set card
- Golem Summon back Recycler -> Send World Wand
- Link into Lib with Recycler and Golem -> Set World Legacy Succession -> Bring back Golem -> Bring back Recycler -> Send Harp
- Link into 3 materials Apollousa using Scrap Wyvern and any other 2 monsters (which monsters don't matter)
- Banish Harp to Summon Orcustrated Knightmare
- Link Orcustrated Knightmare and 1 monster into Galatea -> Shuffle Harp to Set Babel
- Banish Orcustrated Knightmare to Send Skeleton
- Banish World Wand to Summon back Orcustrated Knightmare
- Link Galatea and Orcustrated Knightmare into Bardiche -> Send Cloak to Set Fog Blade
- Banish Cloak to add Boots -> Summon Boots
- Banish Skeleton to Summon back Galatea -> Xyz into Dingirsu -> Attach Skeleton (send to GY if you go 2nd)
- Link Dingirsu and Boots into Masquerena (DON'T SUMMON ON THE ZONE BARDICHE POINTS TO)
- Banish Boots to add Fog Blade
During your opponent's turn, you can:
- Banish Skeleton to Summon back Dingirsu (to a zone Bardiche points to) -> Dingirsu cl1 Bardiche cl2 -> pop + send to GY
- Link Masquerena and Dingirsu into Unicorn (you can co-link it with Bardiche pog) to shuffle 1 card
- Banish Orcustrated Knightmare to send World Wand, Apollousa can gain 800 ATK for 1 more negate (and yes this is a Damage Step card)
- Banish Orcustrated Knightmare to send Harp -> End Phase Harp Summon Orcustrated Knightmare for Accesscode next turn + Orcustrated Knightmare can send Skeleton to bring back Dingirsu
Deck Breakdown (Outside Combo)
Main Deck:
- 3x Scrap Raptor: Search Recycler (add + Extra Normal Summon)
- 3x Fossil Dig: Search Scrap Raptor
- 3x Scrapyard: Search Scrap Raptor
- 2x Scrap Lube: Revive Recycler
- 2x Overdone Burial: Revive Recycler
- 3x Shade Brigandine: Extender. If recycler got negated, just Brigandine into Scrap Wyvern and do your combo normally
- 1x Orcust Crescendo: Omni-negate, a bit hard to use since you won't control Galatea most of the time
- 10x Other Staples you already know about
Extra Deck:
- 1x Al'miraj: This boi is important. If Recycler got ashed, veilered, impermed, or whatever; you can Link into Al'miraj and revive back your Recycler using cards like Monster Reborn, Scrap Lube, or Overdone Burial. It doesn't matter if it's negated, the first send is only to set up 2 monsters on the field for Scrap Wyvern. If you happened to Monster Reborn it, you can make 4 materials Apollousa instead
- 1x Longirsu: Quick Effect potential non-targeting send 2 monsters to GY. It's an Orcust Link Monster, which enables Crescendo
- 1x Trisbaena: Link Masquerena and Apollousa to banish all backrow (including your Fog Blades). You can trigger its effect by using Harp or Skeleton. Only do this against backrow Decks. Since most backrow Deck barely have a monster on the field, you can sacrifice Apollousa and your Fog Blades to banish up to 5 backrow
- 1x Barricadeborg: Protect your Babel. You can Link this instead of Masquerena if you're afraid of Lightning Storm/Twin Twister wiping your Babel
- 1x Link Spider: Rosenix and O-lion Summon a token, in case you ever need to turn them into effect monsters to do some Link plays
Conclusions
How consistent is the Deck? 12 Starters in 48 card Deck, so around 78% chance to open your Starter. Playing 2 ofs most of the combo pieces to avoid drawing garnet = can't combo, also it's an Orcust Deck, you can't just play 1 of. Playing more backrow staples over hand traps because Scrap Wyvern fodder is important to make Apollousa. Don't ever, not even once, think on playing Maxx "C" on this Deck, it will hurt you more than gaining advantage
The Deck biggest weakness is pretty much Nibiru, since you go into Apollousa at your 10th Summon. This Deck can dodge Ash, Veiler/Imperm, or even Droll. Unless your opponent is smart enough to negate Scrap Wyvern instead of just YEP BUTTONS and negate Recycler, you're fine if you have an Extender. If your Scrap Wyvern got negated, you're screwed. You can still make some play if you have a way to send Harp to GY. The funny part is that Droll only affect Bardiche engine alone. Where does it say "Add" on an Orcust card? Even the Scrap engine doesn't add, except for the RotA I guess. Even Lib doesn't add, she SETS. Actually you're screwed if you got Drolled on Fossil Dig/Scrapyard. But who plays Droll on Bo1 anyways (I guess Drytron hater does)
This Deck also suffers from not having an Omni-Negate, meaning that Raigeki/Lightning Storm alone may break the board. Unless you decided to just say NOPE to Babel and Set Crescendo instead, which mean you're gonna miss a lot of advantage just for an Omni-Negate. No Masquerena, no Dingirsu, no Harp during your opponent's turn. No worries tho, Raigeki alone can't break the board. You still have 2 Fog Blades (which can revive Bardiche BTW) and Dingirsu. On the other hand, this Deck doesn't instantly lose to Droplet/Dark Ruler like that Tier 1 Machine Deck that everyone hates
Overall, this Deck is kinda decent. Unlike most Combo Deck that sets up like 7 Negates and loses to Droplet, this Deck sets up a different type of disruptions. An interactive one, that is. Playing with Masquerena and Dingirsu is much more fun than just negating everything your opponent does (tho the Deck still sets up 5 monster negates). Kinda balanced when it comes to monsters and backrow.
My build is obviously not the best one out there, I don't even put Ash in it, which is kinda questionable. Maybe because I prefer board breakers over hand traps? The satisfaction is just not the same. You can always swap out cards in any way you like it, don't just copy paste Deck from the internet raw, you insolent fools!
