Deck Building

Each player's deck must contain...

1) 40-60 card main deck (along with a 0-15 card side deck if you're playing in a tournament setting)

2) 0-15 card extra deck

General Rules

1) Both players start with 8000 LP.

2) Each player shuffles their deck before starting a game, and you do not perform any mulligans.

3) The turn 1 player will draw 5 cards off the top of their deck while the turn 2 player will draw 6 cards off the top of their deck.

4) During the first turn, the turn 1 player does not perform a draw phase.

5) Turn 2 onwards, the turn player draws 2 cards off the top of their deck during the draw phase.

6) You may conduct your battle phase on turn 2 to try and clear monsters off of the board, but doing battle along with effects such as piercing will not inflict battle damage to the opponent on turn 2. You can, however, still inflict burn damage on turns 1 and 2.

7) Both players play until one either concedes, loses to an alternative win condition or has their LP reduced to 0.

8) Otherwise, standard MR5 rules apply.

Potential Ruling Questions

Example A: Neos Kluger

image

Elemental Hero Neos Kluger is a 3000 ATK / 2500 DEF fusion monster. What it does is that before damage calculation, the player controlling this card can inflict burn damage to their opponent equal to the ATK of the monster they're battling. If this card were to swing into an attack position monster with 1500 ATK on turn 2, it would only deal 1500 burn damage and the opponent's monster would be destroyed and sent to the GY (unless some other card or effect would send it somewhere else or keep it on the board).

Example B: Time Rending Morganite

image

Time Rending Morganite is a card that on activation allows the player to draw 2 cards instead of 1 during their normal draw during the draw phase. On top of this, it allows the player to perform an additional normal summon. However, they cannot activate monster effects in the hand. Under the rules of UMR6, the draw 2 effect would be completely redundant. It would still resolve normally, and you would still draw 2 cards during your normal draw like you usually do in this ruleset. However, you would also get your additional normal summon and you wouldn't be able to use monster effects in the hand for the rest of the turn.
